Originally founded in 1936 by Frank H. Kneas, Long, Tann, & D'Onofrio, Inc. (LTD) is among the oldest and most experienced full service structural engineering firms in the mid-Atlantic region.

Today our experience enables us to provide a single source of service for our clients - from concept to occupancy.  We have expertise in the design of educational, commercial, institutional, industrial and residential projects.  Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) and state of the art structural engineering design software are part of an integrated network that drives information within the LTD and serves a wide range of clients and beyond.  Our intermediate size allows for effective communication and individual attention.

With a staff of five registered professional engineers having a combined experience of over 175 years, along with experienced designer and technicians, LTD is uniquely qualified to achieve optimum solutions to the most demanding design problems.  The establishment of positive working relationships, our extensive experience and the continuous training of our staff provides us with the ability and confidence to serve our clients at the highest level.

LTD understands the importance of providing safe, economical structural designs in a timely manner.  With our vast knowledge of various structural components and materials and hands-on experience using these materials we offer practical and economical solutions to most effectively meet the client’s immediate and long-term goals.  LTD also values effective communication between the project team to ensure the successful completion of every project.  Our long-term relationships and repetitive projects with our clients is evidence of our success.

As members of national and local engineering societies, such as the Structural Engineers Association International, the Structural Engineering Institute, the American Consulting Engineers Counsel, and the American Society of Civil Engineers, we are committed to remaining current on the latest codes and innovations in structural and architectural engineering.

LTD’s engineers are registered in multiple states throughout the mid-Atlantic region.  With national registration with the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying, we can become registered in virtually every state.
